Tracy Vanneman, CAE, has been selected as the new SIOP Executive Director. Selection Advisory Group Chairs Fred Oswald and Will Shepherd, assisted by Alex Alonso, Kevin Impelman, Rich Klimoski, Deirdre Knapp, Julie Olson-Buchanan, and Doug Reynolds, investigated a number of viable candidates over a months long planning and search process. In the end, it was decided that the best person to lead the AO into the future was the person currently serving in the interim capacity. According to Shepherd: The Selection Advisory Group surveyed and interviewed members of the SIOP Executive Board about the key characteristics needed in an Executive Director. Next, a national recruitment campaign was conducted including advertising in international forums such as LinkedIn as well as specialized employment sites focused on association executives. This resulted in an impressive slate of job candidates from across the country. However, one candidate rose above the rest. Tracy Vanneman stood solidly above the pack with her extensive association management experience, talents, and leadership. Oswald added, "SIOP is fortunate to have Tracy as its Executive Director for years to come, working so closely with us and our profession, and leading SIOP into its exciting future!" Past President Eden King expressed her support for the appointment, saying, "I am truly delighted that Tracy has agreed to serve as Executive Director. She is the ideal partner for the Executive Board and leader for the Administrative Office. Our future is bright with Tracy leading the way!" President Chao echoed her remarks, saying, "I'm thrilled to have Tracy take the helm at the SIOP Administrative Office. Her experience and managerial skills are exactly what SIOP needs during these challenging times." Vanneman stated, “I am thrilled to take on this new adventure as SIOP’s fourth Executive Director, and thankful to the Executive Board leaders and Administrative Office staff for putting their trust in me. The SIOP community is unique in how engaged our members are in service to our association and advancement of the I-O field. I have no doubt that together we will take on the challenges of today and move SIOP forward into a bright future.” Congratulations and best wishes Tracy!
