Satisfy Your Need to Know: Salary Comparisons, E-Learning About I-O Topics, and More

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the latest SIOP Salary Survey Report, we’re happy to announce that it has now been published.  The research is based on data gathered from 1,403 industrial-organizational psychologists across a range of company sizes and industries. This year’s report dives into timely topics like virtual work and the gender pay gap.

“The information in this report will equip SIOP member to make informed decisions about their career paths,” said Scott Oppler, PhD, Chair of the SIOP Institutional Research Committee. Kristl Davison, Chair of the Salary Survey Subcommittee added “This research is intended to empower industrial and organizational psychologists to know their own worth and negotiate the compensation they deserve for the essential work they do.”

Many thanks go to the Institutional Research Committee and Training Industry, Inc., for organizing and evaluating responses to the survey questions.  Further information about the survey results will be made available in a session at the SIOP Virtual Conference in June.  The session will provide comparisons over time and will discuss hot button issues like the consistently observed gender pay gap and trends like virtual work.

The triennial Salary Survey has been published for more than 30 years and is just one of the many member benefits offered to all SIOP members.  You may not realize that your annual dues help cover the costs of preparation, administration, and evaluation work done by the survey vendor.  Other survey work funded by SIOP dues includes the Member Survey, exit surveys, and the Top 10 Workplace Trends.

SIOP members also have access to a wealth of additional work and career resources supported by your membership dues.  This includes  webinars, white papers, and the weekly Newsbriefs.  If you have some extra time during these stay-at-home days, we suggest your visit these resources on our website to learn more. And don’t forget about our brand new Remote Work resources and Online Teaching Survival Guide.

Your membership association is more than just a once-a-year conference, and this is apparent now more than ever. We encourage you to take advantage of some of these lesser known benefits of your membership and put them to work for you.
