APF COVID-19 Rapid Response Grant: $20,000
Due May 1, 2020

In response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the American Psychological Foundation is allocating funding to support psychological research that will provide insights that will help psychologists to work with individuals, families, and groups who are struggling to cope during these challenging times. This grant will fall under APF Visionary Grant priorities of using psychology to solve social problems. The COVID-19 crisis is certainly a major social problem.

Gralnick Research Investigator Prize: $20,000
Due May 1, 2020

The APF Alexander Gralnick Research Investigator Prize recognizes “exceptional individuals orking in the area of serious mental illness,” including but not limited to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia (delusional disorder).

Violet and Cyril Franks Scholarship: $5,000
Due May 15, 2020

The APF Violet and Cyril Franks Scholarship supports graduate-level scholarly projects that use a psychological perspective to help understand and reduce stigma associated with mental illness. The scholarship helps address research which shows that stigma is a significant barrier to treatment and recovery for many of the 50 million Americans living with mental illness.

APF/ Society for General Psychology Mary Whiton Calkins Grant: $4,000
Due May 31, 2020

One grant of $1,500-$4,000 to support faculty who teach at primarily undergraduate serving institutions and who identify undergraduate education as their primary focus.

Sharon Stephens Brehm Undergraduate Psychology Scholarships: $5,000
Due July 1, 2020

The Sharon Stephens Brehm Undergraduate Psychology Scholarships will recognize outstanding psychology undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. The Brehm Scholarships will help defray the students’ direct educational costs (e.g. tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks, etc.). Six $5,000 scholarships are available. Funding will be available to recipients for the fall 2020 semester.

Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Child Psychology Graduate Student Fellowship: $25,000
Due November 15, 2020

The Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Fellowship program supports graduate research projects and scholarships in child psychology. Program Goals: Nurture excellent young scholars for careers in areas of psychology, such as child-clinical, pediatric, school, educational and developmental psychopathology. Support scholarly work contributing to the advancement of knowledge in these areas. Funding Specifics: Support for one year only. Only one application accepted from any one institution in any given year. Tuition waiver/coverage from home institution.

Div. 12/ Theodore Blau Early Career Award for Outstanding Contribution to Professional Clinical Psychology: $2,000
Due November 19, 2020

$2,000 to honor a clinical psychologist for professional accomplishments in clinical psychology. Nominees should be no more than 10 years post doctoral degree. Be a psychologist with an EdD, PsyD or PhD from an accredited university. Individuals who represent diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability and sexual orientation. Candidates can be simultaneously considered for multiple awards, although a psychologist may receive only one Div. 12 award in any given year. No voting members of the Div. 12 Board of Directors will be eligible to receive awards from the division while serving their term. Self-nomination is permitted.

Theodore Millon Grant in Personality Psychology: $5,000
Due November 1, 2020

$5,000 will be granted to an outstanding psychologist engaged in advancing the science of personality psychology, including areas of personality theory, personality disorders and personality assessment.

APF Queen-Nellie Evans Scholarship: $4,000
Due November 15, 2020

The Queen-Nellie Evans Scholarship will recognize outstanding minority graduate students who have a demonstrated commitment to improving the conditions of marginalized communities. Preference is given to those who are preparing for a career in academia, clinical service delivery, or public policy and see their work as helping to improve the condition of marginalized communities after the completion of their graduate studies. Both master’s and doctorate students are welcome to apply.
