Demystifying the SIOP Awards Process Webinar to Be Held May 8

The Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) Committee has recruited its members as well as members of the Awards Committee and the Committee on Ethnic and Minority Affairs (CEMA) to host a panel discussion on applying for and nominating for various types of SIOP recognition.

Demystifying the SIOP Awards Process: A Panel Discussion with SIOP’s Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) Committee will be held at 1 p.m. ET May 8. Register today and add this free event to your calendar!

SIOP recognizes and celebrates outstanding contributions in the field of industrial and organizational psychology through its multifaceted awards program. One of the ways WIN aims to help acknowledge exceptional individuals is through recognition of underrepresented groups including, but not limited to, women. In this webinar, WIN invites you to join in this discussion to explore the diverse array of award categories, each with its unique eligibility criteria, designed to honor exceptional contributions, and hear from past award recipients on their perspective to putting forth a winning nomination and learn more about the nomination and selection process.

With opening remarks from WIN Chair Dr. Ny Mia Tran, the webinar will help demystify the SIOP awards process. The panel will highlight past winners from various categories including:

  • Jennifer Feitosa – SIOP International Research and Collaboration (IRC) Small Grant Recipient, 2023
  • Deirdre Knapp – Distinguished Service Contributions Award, 2021
  • Traci Sitzmann – William A. Owens Scholarly Achievement Award Recipient alongside Elizabeth M. Campbell, 2023
  • Lisa Finklestein – Distinguished Teaching Contributions Award, 2023
  • Lindsay Dhanani – LGBTQ Best Paper Award, 2024
  • Kristin Cullen-Lester – Distinguished Early Career Contributions Award-Practice, 2021

Additionally, Kimberly French, immediate past chair of the Awards Committee, will weigh in on new awards for this year, the 2025 awards cycle, and the review process after the call for submissions is closed. Final remarks will be shared by SIOP President Alexis Fink.

Through discovering how to navigate the awards process, you can help us enhance the inclusion and diversity of the applicants to broaden our recognition among the profession in ways that are truly meaningful.

The call for applications for award nominations are now open through June 30. Apply Now!
