Calls and Announcements

External organizations may use Calls and Announcements to share information relevant to SIOP membership (e.g., topics related to I-O psychology, HR, organizational development, workplace issues, etc.). Posts are free and limited to 300 words. They must be written by the requestor (SIOP cannot write these posts) and should include a title and a link for more information. Attachments are not supported. Each post must clearly identify the organization responsible for the information and include contact information, unless a link for more information has been provided.

Calls and Announcements is appropriate for calls for papers, announcements about relevant events or professional development opportunities, and requests for study participation. All survey requests must have appropriate approval (for example, Institutional Review Board approval) prior to being submitted. Job posts are not permitted in Calls and Announcements; please visit our Career Center or information about posting a job. Sales posts are not permitted in Calls and Announcements; please visit our Partner webpage for advertising opportunities.

Requestors may email their post to aellis@siop.org.

Calls and Announcements are available for external organizations. SIOP committee chairs should reach out to their liaison for opportunities to communicate their events and initiatives. If a committee chair does not know who their liaison is, please email siop@siop.org for assistance.

Call for unpublished Data: Effort Gains and Effort Losses in Teams

Dear colleagues,

We are currently conducting a meta-analysis on effort gains and effort losses in teams. By now, we have nearly completely coded the published literature.

Now, we are looking for unpublished data. If you have any unpublished data fulfilling the criteria summarized below, we would be very grateful if you could share this data with us. As we would be happy to finish our meta-analysis soon, we would greatly appreciate it if you could do so as soon as possible.

Call for Nominations: Editor of the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology

APA’s Publications and Communications (P&C) Board has opened nominations for the editorship of the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology for the years 2022–2026. Peter Chen, PhD, is the incumbent editor.

Candidates should be available to start receiving manuscripts in early 2021 to prepare for issues published in 2022.

Please note that the P&C Board encourages participation by members of underrepresented groups in the publication process and would particularly welcome such nominees. Self-nominations are also encouraged. James Campbell (Jim) Quick, PhD and Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, PhD, will co-chair the search.

The Innovations in Testing Conference Wants to Hear Your Pitch!

The highly dynamic ATP Innovation Lab, a forum designed to bring to light inventors and entrepreneurs whose technology, products, or services could be “game-changers” for the industry,  is returning to the Innovations in Testing conference for the fourth year!

Innovation Lab Participants will receive one-on-one coaching from industry mentors who can provide business and industry basics, as well as guidance on networking opportunities. Participants will also have access to a presentation coach to assist them in developing their stage pitch and honing their presentation skills. The ATP Innovation Lab will culminate in a judged session on the Innovations in Testing main stage, where participants will present their innovations, receive feedback from judges and audience members, and vie for awards.

Participation is limited to a maximum of five selected innovators / entrepreneurs. Applications are due by midnight EST on December 13, 2019.

Submission Deadline for SciTS2020 Approaching

SciTS2020 is a forum for team science scholars, practitioners, and providers from a broad range of disciplines to share and advance the latest evidence-based methods in team collaboration in translational and transdisciplinary science.

Speakers and attendees will include investigators, administrators, students, funders, and policymakers. Anyone interested in improving integrative research and discovery is welcome.  The deadline for abstract submission is December 1, 2019.

The 2020 conference will be hosted by Duke University and the Duke Clinical & Translational Science Institute, June 1-4, 2020 at the Durham Convention Center in historic and vibrant Downtown Durham.

The Office of Evaluation Sciences (OES) is currently accepting applications for fellowships beginning in Fall 2020 in Washington, DC. The application deadline is December 15, 2019

Based at the General Services Administration (GSA), OES is a team of interdisciplinary experts that works across government to help agencies build and use evidence. Team members work alongside agency collaborators to apply behavioral insights, make concrete recommendations on how to improve government and evaluate impact using administrative data. OES is uniquely situated at the center of government to share leading practices, develop resources, and build skills in the federal workforce on evidence and evaluation.
