Jenny Baker / Thursday, October 8, 2020 / Categories: 582 LEC Postponed to 2021 Leading Edge: Leadership Development Karen B. Paul, 3M, Chair of 2021 Leading Edge Consortium Due to COVID, the 2020 LEC has been postponed to the fall of 2021 as we plan on an exciting LEC on Leadership Development. According to the Conference Board (2020) C-Suite Challenge, talent is the number one stress point globally for CEOs, with talent shortages acutely felt across all industrial sectors. The need for leadership development has never been more urgent. Companies of all sorts realize that to survive in today’s environment, they need leadership skills and organizational capabilities different from those that helped them succeed in the past, and they need these skills at all levels. Yet, what are these skills and how best to develop leaders for a future that has yet to arrive is the subject of many debates in organizations, consulting firms, and academia. For these and other reasons, the SIOP 2021 Leading Edge Consortium (LEC) will focus on the topic of Leading Edge: Leadership Development. On behalf of the SIOP LEC Design Team and myself, we look forward to seeing you next year: David V.
