Free Webcast: Exploring the Legal and Practical Implications of Using AI-Based Assessments in Hiring

Recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have changed and continue to change the way we live, work, and interact with each other. Advances in AI are also beginning to change the way that organizations assess and hire talent.

These changes are happening rapidly and with little guidance about how to effectively implement, interpret, and use scores produced from AI-based assessments to make hiring decisions that comply with equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.

On March 23, we invite you to explore this topic through the free SHRM webcast, Exploring the Legal and Practical Implications of Using AI-Based Assessments in Hiring. This one-hour virtual event sponsored by SIOP will provide an overview of the effective and lawful use of AI assessments.

A panel of experts, including SIOP Fellows Eric Dunleavy and Nancy Tippins and SIOP Member Seth Zimmer, will discuss guidelines for evaluating and implementing AI-based tools for recruiting and hiring and highlight the legal implications of using AI-based assessments. The program will conclude with insights from Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Commissioner Keith Sonderling.

Earlier this year, SIOP released its Considerations and Recommendations for the Validation and Use of AI-Based Assessments for Employee Selection. This document supplements SIOP's statement on the use of AI for hiring, which was created by the SIOP Task Force on AI-Based Personnel Assessment and Prediction in spring 2022.
