2023 SIOP Distinguished and Career Award Recipients Honored

Every year, SIOP and the SIOP Foundation present numerous awards recognizing excellence in professional and student work. For 2023, seven SIOP members have been honored with distinguished and career awards.

SIOP Distinguished and Career Awards are given in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding contributions to the practice or science of industrial and organizational psychology; distinguished early career contributions to the field; sustained and outstanding service to SIOP; excellence in the teaching of I-O psychology; and sustained and outstanding humanitarian contributions related to I-O psychology.

2023 SIOP Distinguished and Career Award Recipients include:

  • Distinguished Professional Contributions: Michael Campion
  • Distinguished Scientific Contributions: Miriam Erez and Joel Brockner
  • Distinguished Early Career Contributions – Practice: Michael Natali
  • Distinguished Early Career Contributions – Science: Fadel K. Matta
  • Distinguished Teaching Contributions: Lisa Finkelstein
  • Wayne Cascio Scientist-Practitioner: Eduardo Salas

SIOP also presents awards in the categories of Achievements and Best Papers, Research Grants, and Scholarships and Fellowships.

  • Achievement and Best Paper Awards
A number of SIOP awards are given to recognize outstanding publications, projects, and applied work by its members. Funded largely by donations from leading I-O psychologists, these awards highlight excellence, innovation, and advancement in various areas germane to the I-O field.
  • Research Grants
SIOP invests in the advancement of I-O psychology by funding research initiatives. Grants are available through programs that support research in any area of interest to SIOP members and through programs that support research on key topics, such as leadership and diversity. Several grants are specifically designed to support research by graduate students.
  • Scholarships and Fellowships
SIOP awards several scholarships and a fellowship to recognize achievement by graduate students in I-O psychology and related fields and to provide these students with financial support.

These recipients will be individually featured in a social media campaign spanning SIOP’s TwitterFacebookLinkedIn, and Instagram accounts later this spring.

A complete list of 2023 award winners is available online. The 2023 SIOP Salutes brochure will also be posted here later this spring.
