The next installment of the series will be offered live, on Zoom, on Aug. 9. Join us as SIOP History Committee Chair Zhenyu Yuan talks with SIOP Fellow Dr. Virginia Schein, whose impressive career spans more than 4 decades. She will answer questions and then take questions from the online audience. Schein will talk about what inspired her to pursue I-O psychology, what her early years in the industry were like, what ignited her interest in studying and advocating for impoverished working women, how she stays curious and passionate, and more. For a sneak peek into what Schein might talk about, read an interview conducted with her in 2021. Schein’s pioneering research laid the foundation for the academic study of women in management and has been cited by thousands of researchers, many of whom have used her Schein Descriptive Index to investigate gender stereotyping and management. Her research has been replicated across five continents, revealing that Think Manager-Think Male is a global phenomenon. She has been a SIOP/Division 14 member since 1970.
