APA Releases 2024 Work in America Report

Last month, the American Psychological Association (APA)  published its 2024 Work in America Survey: Psychological Safety in the Changing Workplace, which surveyed 2,000 employed adults. The survey assessed the changing expectations that workers are experiencing brought on by intergenerational differences among coworkers, technology as it is applied in various areas of work, remote work options and flexibility, and the impact psychological safety can have on these factors.

The rise of artificial intelligence, changing norms after the COVID-19 pandemic, and larger age gaps between coworkers have created new challenges for organizations to address. However, the report finds that workplaces with a culture of psychological safety instill more confidence and resilience in their employees despite these challenges.
