LEC to Focus on Developing Leaders in a Shifting World

The unprecedented pace of change in today’s world has brought us to a place where volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environments are the new normal. As a result, I-O psychologists face many of the following challenges:

  • Identifying and developing effective leadership
  • Addressing the leadership pipeline
  • Enhancing diversity and inclusion in leadership
  • Measuring the impact of leadership development

It is critical to bridge theory and practice in leadership development, and to be able to distinguish the relative effectiveness of several cutting-edge interventions and technology-driven solutions. We invite you to save the date for the 2024 SIOP Leading Edge Consortium (LEC), where attendees will gain invaluable insights from pioneering research, real-world case studies, and proven strategies to navigate the complex challenges of the evolving business landscape.

Developing Leaders in a Shifting World will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, and Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, in Minneapolis. Registration will open in early July.

More information will be shared on the consortium webpage in the coming weeks, but attendees can expect the LEC to provide an immersive experience that bridges the gap between leadership theory and practical applications. Through a meticulously curated program, attendees will gain invaluable insights into:

  • What’s changed and what hasn’t in terms of what it means to be a leader
  • New leadership success factors for the evolving world of work, such as the hybrid model and sociopolitical volatility
  • How organizations are effectively developing leaders at scale
  • Ways organizations are providing personalized development, including using coaching and technology
  • Real-world case studies showcasing successful solutions and proven practitioner strategies

Through engaging presentations, experiential learning, real-world case studies, and invaluable networking opportunities, attendees will leave equipped with actionable strategies to design and implement cutting-edge leadership development initiatives tailored to their organization's needs.

Mark your calendars for this dynamic look at the future of leadership today!
