Participate in the Advance, Engage, and Mentor Program for Ethnic Minority Students and Early Career Professionals

The SIOP Committee on Ethnic and Minority Affairs (CEMA) is launching its fifth cohort of the Advance, Engage, and Mentor Program in March 2024! This 10-month program provides targeted mentoring support to graduate students from underrepresented ethnic groups in SIOP and I-O psychology. We welcome SIOP members interested in being a mentor or protégé to apply for participation.

Participation requires the following commitment:

  • Orientation and training in March
  • Monthly meetings with their mentoring partner to discuss topics such as research, their own career advancement, and/or skill building
  • Midpoint check-in event
  • Closeout event in December

Based on feedback from previous cohorts, this cohort will also include additional support throughout the program such as mentoring tools, resources, and open office hours hosted by the Steering Committee so mentors and protégés can share success stories and lessons learned.

If you are a graduate student from an underrepresented ethnic group and would like to participate as a protégé, submit a protégé application by February 27, 2024, to be considered for the program.

All interested SIOP members—from all ethnic backgrounds, professions, and ranks—are encouraged to participate to be a mentor. If you would like to participate as a mentor, apply by February 27, 2024, to be considered for the program. Feel free to share the application link with your colleagues and friends within SIOP.
