Save the Date for SIOP Work Smart Series Event on Workplace Mistreatment

Save the date for the next session in the SIOP Work Smart Series! On Wednesday, May 24, Kimberly Young-McLear and Shannon Taylor will present Workplace Mistreatment: Science and Solutions, a discussion on incivility and bullying in the workplace.

Workplace mistreatment increases depression, anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, low life satisfaction, and psychological distress, and decreases work productivity. In a recent meta-analysis, researchers reported that an average of 34% of employees experience workplace mistreatment, and 44% of employees witness mistreatment. The estimated cost of workplace mistreatment ranges from $700 billion to $2 trillion annually. Now more than ever, it is essential for I-O psychology professionals and those in related fields to think strategically about addressing this issue.

Mark your calendar for May 24, and watch for more details in the coming weeks!
