An Announcement from the American Psychological Association (APA)

An Announcement from the American Psychological Association (APA):

Exciting news! We have a new APA governance committee for Applied Psychology, and we are seeking nominations for the first cohort!!

The call for nominations for inaugural committee members is now open. The deadline for nominations and self-nominations is May 1, 2023. Please consider this opportunity. Details are available at this link.

If you have experience in areas such as industrial-organizational and consulting psychology, occupational health psychology, human factors and applied experimental psychology, media psychology, consumer psychology and behavioral economics, psychology and law, environmental & conservation psychology, educational psychology, sport/performance psychology (and many more!), we want you! APA encourages nominations from APA members who are psychological scientists and consultants who have been trained in diverse subdisciplines of applied psychology and who have applied psychological and behavioral science in diverse contexts. APA recognizes that psychologists’ careers may span decades and psychologists trained in one subdiscipline may gravitate to other areas of expertise over the course of their careers. Accordingly, APA’s approach to assessing relevant qualifications will be flexible and nuanced. Nominees should not feel pigeonholed by their graduate training alone.
