Strategic Leader Development Forum

The U.S. Army’s Army of 2030 concept presents a refined vision of its future operational concept and the force required for its execution. Evolving the force in an environment of disruptive change and adapting to the changing character of war requires greater mental agility, intellectual curiosity, and creative, critical, and strategic thinking. To meet the Army’s vision, strategic leader development in professional military education can draw from advances in executive education in civilian settings, including leader assessments, executive coaching, experiential simulations, multimodal delivery, and emerging research. To that end, the U.S. Army War College will host its second Strategic Leader Development Forum on 25-26 January 2023. Participants will have opportunities to learn from enterprise leaders as keynote speakers, engage with a panel of top leadership scholars, share developmental methodologies, share and apply research, participate in workshops to advance curriculum development, and learn about Army research opportunities and how to successfully apply for grants/contracts. The event will take place in historic Carlisle, PA, with opportunities to explore the local area and nearby Gettysburg. Although we encourage in-person attendance, a hybrid format will enable remote attendance for some portions of the program. We welcome submissions from academic and private sector researchers, professional military educators, executive educators and coaches, think tanks, and graduate student researchers.

Registration and guidelines for submissions can be found here:
