Careers in Applied Psychology: I-O Psychology Video Now Available

The APA now offers informative video panels on careers in applied psychology, including I-O psychology. Panelists discuss what they do in their job and the career path they followed. Insights are provided for students contemplating a career in applied psychology.

The I-O psychology panel includes SIOP members Betsy Shoenfelt, Neil Morelli, and Dorothy Carter.

“Our hope is the APA Office of Applied Psychology video series will get high school and undergraduate students interested early in their academic career so they can make wise decisions about graduate training,” said Shoenfelt, SIOP Fellow. “Please share widely with any who might be interested in a career in I-O psych.”

This introduction to I-O explains how I-O psychologists use science to make organizations and the people who work in them more effective through workforce planning, talent management, training, leader development, job attitudes and motivation, work team dynamics, DEI, and organizational change and development. Panelists also provide insight about graduate education and deciding on a career path in I-O.
