New Year – New Look!

One of the first things you may have noticed about this week’s issue of Newsbriefs is that it’s no longer called Newsbriefs. Introducing SIOP Source, your weekly source for information members need to know.

Some things will stay the same, regardless of name: SIOP members will still get this newsletter in their inboxes once midweek, depending on your time zone, content will still include the valuable SIOP information you need to know, and you’ll still have access to relevant industry news.

But, after many discussions with members about how to make this resource more robust and useful, we are introducing the following changes.

The biggest change is the platform. We hope that you will find this layout friendly and engaging. Streamlined, professional, and modern. But beyond aesthetics, we’re excited about the opportunities this format allows us in terms of content. For example, we will now be able to identify articles by category, which will allow you to more quickly find the articles that most interest you. (We, of course, think you should read the entire newsletter, but we know your time is valuable; these category headlines will help you prioritize your reading.)

Categories you’re likely to see in coming issues include Membership, Research and Publications, Events and Education, Annual Conference, Advocacy, and Diversity and Inclusion. You’ll also notice quick links to SIOP social media accounts at the bottom of each issue. Formatting changes to look for in the future include callouts for Events, Important Dates, and Members in the Media.

The AI component, which brings you industry news, will now be curated by you, the readers, which means it’s likely that no two newsletters will be the same. Everyone will get the same SIOP content, but industry content will be “served” based on your interactions with previous industry content. For the next few weeks, industry news will be included based on keywords, but what you click on each week will determine what you see in coming weeks. In other words, you’re in the driver’s seat!

SIOP Source exists to provide timely information that members need to know, whether it’s about the annual conference, elections, awards, or engagement opportunities. Please visit SIOP’s other publications, including The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist and Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice, for other unique content.

As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. Happy reading!
