Amber Stark / Tuesday, November 24, 2020 / Categories: Member News, Items of Interest, SIOP Source APA Updates: Call for Papers, 2020 Convention Summary, Board and Committee Election Results By Malissa Clark (Division 14 APA Program Chair) and Alyssa McGonagle (CIT) Call for papers for APA 2021 Convention We are happy to announce that the call for papers for APA 2021 is now open. With the uncertainty around COVID-19, all divisions have been instructed to plan for 100% virtual programming for APA 2021. In addition to this virtual programming, APA hopes to have an in-person meeting in San Diego from August 12-15, but this decision will not be made until April 2021. We encourage submissions for APA Virtual 2021 from Division 14 members. This is a great opportunity for those projects that you didn’t quite get finished in time to submit for SIOP! The SIOP Division 14 APA program includes posters, symposia, data blitz, skill-building sessions, and collaborative programming with other divisions. Graduate students and early career scholars, be sure to check out Psych Science in 3, an exciting format where presenters share their research in 3 short minutes. We are particularly interested in collaborative sessions that pull together presenters from different divisions to address a central topic from multiple perspectives. These tend to be very highly attended and impactful. If you have a collaborative program idea, please reach out the program chair directly so we can help you connect with other divisions. Important dates: Collaborative programs are due Dec. 7, and regular submissions (e.g., posters, papers) are due Jan. 12. Summary of the APA 2020 Convention Thank you to all the SIOP members who supported APA 2020 after the Convention shifted to a virtual experience. Feel free to check out the fantastic content from APA Virtual 2020 that you can still access and enjoy for a fraction of the cost of typical registration ($50 for APA members, $15 for APA student affiliates; $75 for nonmembers of APA). Our 2020 Division 14 Programming and Presidential Programming sessions (featuring many Div. 14 members) are summarized in the links below. All of these on demand sessions can be accessed online through August 2021.
