The collaboration will advance ongoing research, practice, and funding efforts. Drs. Kristin Saboe and Nathan Ainspan were selected to serve as liaisons between the two APA divisions. This collaboration will work toward educating and informing civilian employers about the military community that will in turn help companies leverage and improve their hiring, engaging, and retention of veterans, service members, and their families. SIOP will benefit from the aid of Division 19's Military psychologists, who range in expertise from neuroscientists to clinical and I-O psychologists. Division 19's psychologists will contribute to projects and efforts led by SIOP's Military and Veterans Initiative Task Force. The collaboration will support additional growth opportunities for partnerships and member interests. In the coming year, MVI will expand efforts to increase SIOP member involvement and interest. The task force is exploring white paper publications, expansions of collaborations within SIOP, and supporting the organization’s efforts to elevate awareness of the impact of I-O psychology within military and veteran affairs.
