Calls and Announcements

External organizations may use Calls and Announcements to share information relevant to SIOP membership (e.g., topics related to I-O psychology, HR, organizational development, workplace issues, etc.). Posts are free and limited to 300 words. They must be written by the requestor (SIOP cannot write these posts) and should include a title and a link for more information. Attachments are not supported. Each post must clearly identify the organization responsible for the information and include contact information, unless a link for more information has been provided.

Calls and Announcements is appropriate for calls for papers, announcements about relevant events or professional development opportunities, and requests for study participation. All survey requests must have appropriate approval (for example, Institutional Review Board approval) prior to being submitted. Job posts are not permitted in Calls and Announcements; please visit our Career Center or information about posting a job. Sales posts are not permitted in Calls and Announcements; please visit our Partner webpage for advertising opportunities.

Calls and Announcements are available for external organizations. SIOP committee chairs should reach out to their liaison for opportunities to communicate their events and initiatives. If a committee chair does not know who their liaison is, please email siop@siop.org for assistance.

Open Call for Associate Editors – Human Resource Development Quarterly

We are pleased to announce that the incoming co-editors, Drs. Rajashi Ghosh, Toby Egan, and Sewon Kim, are seeking nominations for Associate Editor positions at Human Resource Development Quarterly, a respected Jossey-Bass/Wiley publication. With a solid impact factor of 4.0, our journal ranks highly in both Industrial Relations & Labor (5/49) and Psychology, Applied (19/113). Role Description: Associate Editors play a crucial role by:

  • Encouraging high-quality submissions from prospective authors.
  • Recruiting skilled reviewers.
  • Crafting decision letters for new and revised manuscripts.
  • Possibly writing editorials or other pieces to support the journal.
  • Promoting the journal at national and international events, thereby acting as stellar ambassadors.

Commitments:

  • Participating in conference calls and, if possible, attending the Editorial Board meetings held during the Academy of Human Resource Development Conference in the Americas and other related events.
  • Serving a three-year term from January 2025 to December 2027, concurrent with the incoming Co-Editors', with the possibility of a second term and potential consideration for subsequent senior editorial roles.

Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates are tenured or tenure-track faculty at research universities, with:

  • A strong publication record in Human Resource Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Management, and/or Public Administration.
  • Experience in Human Resources/Organization Development with an international scope.
  • Institutional support for this role.
  • Previous service as a reviewer, track chair, special issue editor, or editorial board member.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and global outreach.

Application Process: Self-nominations are welcomed. Applicants should submit a detailed letter of interest that includes their methodological capabilities, along with a complete curriculum vitae by October 25, 2024. Final decisions will be communicated by the end of the month.
