Calls and Announcements

External organizations may use Calls and Announcements to share information relevant to SIOP membership (e.g., topics related to I-O psychology, HR, organizational development, workplace issues, etc.). Posts are free and limited to 300 words. They must be written by the requestor (SIOP cannot write these posts) and should include a title and a link for more information. Attachments are not supported. Each post must clearly identify the organization responsible for the information and include contact information, unless a link for more information has been provided.

Calls and Announcements is appropriate for calls for papers, announcements about relevant events or professional development opportunities, and requests for study participation. All survey requests must have appropriate approval (for example, Institutional Review Board approval) prior to being submitted. Job posts are not permitted in Calls and Announcements; please visit our Career Center or information about posting a job. Sales posts are not permitted in Calls and Announcements; please visit our Partner webpage for advertising opportunities.

Requestors may email their post to aellis@siop.org.

Calls and Announcements are available for external organizations. SIOP committee chairs should reach out to their liaison for opportunities to communicate their events and initiatives. If a committee chair does not know who their liaison is, please email siop@siop.org for assistance.

Call for Abstracts: Society for Environmental, Populations, and Conservation Psychology (SEPCP) Annual Virtual Conference

September 26-27, 2024

The submission portal for Division 34's Online Conference is now open. Join us as we explore the latest insights from environmental, population, and conservation psychology with our theme this year, "Psychology for a Resilient Future: Adaptation, Mitigation, and Coping in a Changing World." 

The deadline to submit is May 31, 2024 at 11:59pm in the last time zone in the world (UTC+14).

We especially encourage submissions related to: 

  • Activism and Engagement (policy support, policy-maker decision-making, motivators of civic action, collective action, systems change) 

  • Improving Our Science (novel methods, study design, many-labs, mixed methods) 

  • Individual, Structural, and Organizational Change (behavior change, uptake of new behaviors, changes at different societal levels)

  • Resilience, Health, and Well-being (impacts of climate change on mental and physical health, community resilience, individual coping, risk assessment)

  • Technology and Design (urban design, architecture,  carbon dioxide removal, energy, technology adoption) 

Consistent with our conference theme, we encourage submissions that feature diverse researchers, audiences, and/or methods. We invite submissions that: 

  • Present new and ongoing empirical work 

  • Conduct mini-systematic reviews of a topic or sub-theme 

  • Focus on setting agendas for future work in the discipline within (or across) the conference themes

 

Submission Types

All presentations will be virtual and in real-time

If presenters are concerned about Internet bandwidth/stability, full talks and flash talks can be pre-recorded and played by the conference organizers. However, presenters are expected to attend and answer questions in real-time. 

Number of allowed presentations

Individuals may present once during the conference but can be listed as a co-author on submissions presented by others. 

  

Registration Rates

Students: $25 member/$40 non-member; Professionals: $45 member/$75 non-member. The registration portal will open in early spring.
