SIOP 2020 Virtual Program Information
Renowned experts from economics, political science, sociology, business, and popular culture join I-O Psychology luminaries in sharing “Perspectives on Possible Futures of I-O” in the SIOP 2020 Virtual Conference Closing Plenary.
The SIOP 2020 Virtual Conference features nearly 500 sessions of high-quality peer reviewed content in a full range of presentation formats. The presentation topics are a robust mix of subjects vitally important in the current moment and core I-O topics. For example, there are nearly 50 presentations on diversity and inclusion, along with scores of presentations on testing and assessment, strategic HR, technology, groups and teams, and work and family/non-work life.
The SIOP Theme Track, The Who, What, Where, Why, and How of Inclusion, takes a multi-faceted look at issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how I-O psychology can help create a more diverse and inclusive future of work. Five video sessions include voices from within and outside of SIOP. Theme Track organizers are also coordinating discussions related to inclusion for conference registrants through the Whova event app.
The COVID-19 Track includes a panel discussion on COVID-19 and the Future of Work as well as a series of Ted-style talks covering different areas of I-O psychology. Curated by Emily Solberg and Jason Randall, the presentations will share relevant research and thinking on how I-O Psychologists can address the workplace challenges created by the pandemic.
The Advocacy 101 session, a companion to the recently released Guide to Federal Outreach and Advocacy, is intended to invite your participation in SIOP’s advocacy efforts and help you make the most of available advocacy resources.
The newly developed special session, SIOP and APA: The Road Ahead is Paved With Opportunities, features updates and insights on SIOP’s work advancing the interests of applied psychologists within the APA.
