The SIOP Professional Practice Committee is offering two opportunities (Practitioner Best Practice Sharing and Career Growth Exploration) at this year's conference to further support your professional development. These two opportunities have LIMITED SEATING so sign up early to reserve your spot. Registrations are due by Friday, March 21^st. There is no extra charge for registration, but we kindly request your attendance upon signing up, as seating is restricted to registered participants. Your presence ensures that those genuinely interested can participate fully, preserving a professional and impactful experience.

Both events will be hosted in the Colorado Convention Center on Thursday, April 3^rd from 4-5:15 PM.

After selecting the session, you will be asked to complete your registration by answering a few additional questions. This information will be used by the sub-committee teams to assign participants and send a registration confirmation prior to the conference.

Do you have a specific issue you would like to discuss with experienced I-O practitioners? 

For example:

• My company wants to update our performance management system. What have been some of the aspects of these systems you have seen to be effective? 
• How have you dealt with succession to key senior leadership roles?
• We recently implemented an employee listening system, how have you engaged front-line leaders to use the results?

Join experienced practitioners for real-time advice and discussions on topics relevant to you. Move between tables to explore key issues and share best practices with fellow participants.

Participants will join table discussions that will be facilitated by an experienced I-O practitioner focused on the following topics:

Career Growth Exploration: When and How to Make the Leap Event

Join I-O practitioners to explore how personal and professional experiences shape career paths. Designed for early-to-mid career professionals, this event offers insights into making job changes, exploring new directions, and navigating career transitions.

What to expect in this session?

Facilitated discussions by diverse I-O practitioners who faced personal or professional crossroads. Shared insights from career crossroads, including deliberate shifts and unexpected opportunities within the field.

How is this different from most SIOP sessions?

After brief introductions from the I-O practitioners who will facilitate the discussions, participants will join a small group with the practitioner(s) who align to their interests and career situation. One-time mentoring sessions can discuss I-O interests you may not encounter in your current role with intentionality.

Who should participate?

This event is designed for I-O practitioners with 2+ years of experience aiming to delve into effective strategies for navigating a thriving Industrial-Organizational Psychology career across various trajectories.

Participants must be registered to attend the 2025 SIOP Annual Conference either. The deadline to register for this free session is Friday, March 21, 2025.
