On February 7, President Biden delivered his second State of the Union Address to Congress and the nation, detailing achievements within the Administration as well as plans for the remainder of his presidency. The President encouraged the newly divided Congress to reach across the aisle in delivering important legislation this year.
President Biden discussed community policing efforts, advocating for legislation to support community intervention programs, and investments in job training. The President also focused on emerging technologies and cybersecurity, as well as ongoing competitiveness with China in the science and research sector. He touted the accomplishments of the Administration in cybersecurity while underscoring the continued need for investment in American AI innovation and modernization of the military.
In the field of health care, President Biden highlighted the creation of the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) “to drive breakthroughs” in health research as well as gun safety and mental health legislation.
