Dr. Yuko Okado’s Behavioral Health Promotion Lab at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is looking for volunteer mentors for the Psychology Pathways Project, an NSF-supported STEM outreach project that helps Psychology majors explore different career options in STEM. Specifically, we are looking for volunteer mentors in Psychology that are working in STEM industries. Volunteer mentors would be asked to video-record virtual agents that can share their career experiences with students (examples of virtual-agent mentor from a prior project can be viewed here
Specifically, we are looking for mentors that:
• Are working out in industry (in STEM)
• Have completed formalized training (e.g., major, minor, etc.) in Psychology
• Are from under represented minority (URM) backgrounds
Please let me know if you have any recommendations, or if you’d be willing to circulate a flyer (attached) to APA Division 14 members. If you’d suggest contacting someone else, I’d appreciate being pointed in that direction as well.
