Industrial and Organizational Psychology (IOP) is now accepting commentaries on two new focal articles. The deadline for these commentaries is July 1, 2024. The articles are scheduled for publication in the December 2024 edition (vol. 17, #4).
Focal #1 is Quantifying the Scientist–Practitioner Gap: How Do Small Business Owners React to Our Academic Articles? by Steven Zhou, Lauren N. P. Campbell, and Shea Fyffe. Focal #2 is Under Attack: Why and How I-O Psychologists Should Counteract Threats to DEI in Education and Organizations by Kayla Brooke Follmer, Kristen P. Jones, and Eden King.
Under the new leadership of Cort Rudolph, the journal will continue to produce the interesting and thought-provoking issues readers have come to expect. However, there are also plans for upcoming special issues so keep a look out for special calls to be issued in the future.
IOP focuses on interactive exchanges on topics of importance to science and practice. The journal features focal articles such as those above that present new ideas or different takes on existing ideas to stimulate conversation on an important issue. Each focal article is accompanied by commentaries that challenge, expand upon, discuss applicability of, or otherwise add to the points raised in the focal articles.
The focal articles can be downloaded from the Industrial and Organizational Psychology webpage. The journal webpage also contains details on the process of preparing and submitting a commentary, which can be done via https://0-www-siop-org.library.alliant.edu/Research-Publications/IOP-Journal/Format-Submission.
