Each year APA requests nominees for various Board and Committee vacancies. Slates are developed for each opening and either the Council of Representatives or the Board vote on the candidates.  We are appending for your consideration a list of APA Boards and Committees current vacancies. (There is also an opportunity to be part of the group that advises APA on amicus briefs.) The SIOP APA Council of Representatives have bolded those board/committee vacancies they believe are particularly relevant for SIOP’s areas of interest. You may also have interest and expertise in other areas. There are also clickable links on APA’s Nominations web page with more details on APA Boards and Committees with vacancies.

Candidates will need to complete the nomination form and to include their vita. With one exception, nominations must be submitted by January 31, 2025.
At SIOP, we are interested in having more I-O psychologists in the APA governance structure. Those who have had such roles have helped their APA colleagues understand the perspectives and needs of applied psychology. SIOP members have served (or are serving) on committees and boards such as the Board of Scientific Affairs, Board of Professional Affairs, Council Leadership Team, Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessments, Ethics Code Task Force, and many others, including being on APA’s Board of Directors. Most of those who have served describe their experiences very positively including the opportunity to work with impressive colleagues and, in some cases, to influence policy in our respective areas of expertise.

Please take a moment to notify SIOP APA Council Representative Rodney Lowman at rlowman1@gmail.com if you are planning to nominate yourself for volunteer opportunities of particular relevance to your interests and expertise.
