Professional Practice (PPC) Mentoring Program
The PPC Mentoring Program connects early career I-O psychology practitioners with seasoned professionals to foster career growth, diversity, inclusion, and SIOP engagement.
About the Program
- Purpose: To provide education, resources, and networking opportunities to those looking to grow professionally in the practitioner space.
- Target Group: Practitioners in the field > 6 months
- Method: pair-based mentor/mentee, meeting once monthly ~ 2 hrs. (in person or virtual)
- Timeline: 10 Months – March through December
Committee for Ethnic & Minority Affairs (CEMA) Mentoring Program
The program pairs I-O mentors and graduate student mentees, fostering diverse, meaningful connections, networking beyond SIOP's Annual Conference, and sustainable relationships through tailored matching and steering committee support.
About the Program
- Purpose: To increase minority student engagement in SIOP and to provide students with information and advice needed to launch productive careers.
- Target Group: SIOP members of all ethnic backgrounds, professions and ranks and I-O graduate students
- Method: Pair-based mentor/mentee, meeting once monthly (in person or virtual)
- Timeline: 10 Months – March through December
Diversifying I-O Psychology (DIP) Mentoring Program
The SIOP DIP Program supports underrepresented students in I-O psychology through mentoring, research experiences, and poster presentations, fostering diversity and awareness while preparing participants for doctoral program applications.
About the Program
- Purpose: To provide education, resources, and networking opportunities to undergraduate students looking to pursue I-O degrees at PhD funded universities and become SIOP members.
- Target Group: Undergraduates of historically minoritized groups, primarily Black/African Americans, Hispanic/Latinx and Native Americans
- Method: pair-based mentor/mentee, meeting 1-2x monthly ~ 1-2 hrs. (in person or virtual)
- Timeline: January – April
Women's Inclusion Network (WIN) Mentoring Program
The SIOP WIN Mentoring Program fosters authentic relationships, empowering women in I-O psychology through career guidance, networking, and shared experiences, engaging 30 annual participants to support professional growth and recognition.
About the Program
- Purpose: To provide education, resources, and networking opportunities to SIOP member professionals who identify as women.
- Target Group: Women SIOP members
- Method: Informal: 5-8 mentors paired with 2-3 mentees each
- Timeline: 4-6 months, February - June
Ambassador Program
The SIOP Ambassador Program welcomes first time Annual Conference attendees by pairing them with a more seasoned conference goer.
About the Program
- Purpose: To provide support, resources, and networking opportunities to first time Annual Conference attendees
- Target Group: First time conference attendees
- Method: pair-based Ambassador/Newcomers, meeting 2 times (1 virtual, 1 in-person)
- Timeline: 1 month, March-April
