Consortia Committee

The Consortia Committee is responsible for leading and developing the programming for the four consortia held during the SIOP Annual Conference. These consortia are typically offered the Wednesday immediately proceeding the SIOP Annual Conference and are divide into Master’s, Doctoral, Jr. Faculty, and Early Career Professional Practice areas. Members who have previously attended SIOP consortia or who have an interest in supporting the curation of professional development programming that occurs during the SIOP Annual Conference will like the work of this committee.

Continuing Education Committee (CE)

The Continuing Education Committee evaluates, encourages, and promotes improvements of the scientific and professional skills of SIOP members. This committee is responsible for conducting the work to uphold SIOP’s approved sponsorship of activities for organizations seeking credit, such as APA, SHRM, and HRCI. Volunteers with an interest in reviewing educational session content and criteria will find this committee’s work enjoyable.

Education and Training Committee (E&T)

The Education and Training Committee encourages and promotes the development of the scientific and practice skills of current and prospective Society members. Core work within this committee includes maintaining the Guidelines for Education and Training in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, contributing to educational and training boards of other societies such as APA and APS, and facilitating an annual meeting of graduate program directors during the SIOP Annual Conference. Members who have an interest in supporting the future of graduate education in the I-O field will be best suited to serve this committee.

Leading Edge Consortium Committee

The LEC Committee is responsible for identifying speakers and coordinating sessions to provide a well-rounded professional development event. Once a focal topic is selected, SIOP members who contribute to or practice within that area are sought to join the planning effort. Volunteer members are not solicited or accepted due to the unique nature and accelerated pace of the work of this committee.

APA Program Committee

The APA Program Committee is responsible for developing SIOP’s program for the APA Annual Convention. Program committee members' primary responsibility is reviewing and evaluating proposals submitted to APA as Division 14 submissions, as well as developing program proposals and/or soliciting proposals from others. SIOP members who are also members of APA and who have a strong interest in supporting shared I-O field knowledge will enjoy their work on this committee.

APS Program Committee

The APS Program Committee is responsible for developing the I-O programming for the APS Annual Convention. Committee members focus on developing or soliciting proposals as well as reviewing and evaluating proposals submitted for inclusion to the I-O track at the event. Volunteers who are members of APS and want to help inform the event offering from an I-O perspective will like the core tasks of this committee.

SIOP Conference Committee

The SIOP Annual Conference is coordinated by the members of this committee. This committee is comprised of a steering committee of leaders who include the Chairs of the Career Services and Consortia Committees as well as others who serve as the Volunteer Coordinator, Ambassador Program, Engagement, and Inclusion leads. SIOP members who have previously attended the SIOP Annual Conference and are interested in supporting the planning of the overall event will best suited to serve as a volunteer.

SIOP Diversifying I-O Psychology Program Committee (DIP)

SIOP’s DIP Program Committee focuses on activities to increase diversity within the field of I-O psychology by increasing the diversity of students who apply to and are accepted into funded doctoral I-O programs. The work of the committee includes facilitating a mentorship program, virtual conference, and providing additional support to undergraduate students with an interest in pursuing an I-O doctoral degree. The volunteers who would find the most engagement on the DIP Committee are those who have an interest in guiding undergraduate students in the I-O field.

SIOP Program Committee

The SIOP Program Committee leads the planning and organization of the Annual Conference scholarship and programs. Volunteers will assist with the Call for Proposals, develop Special Sessions and Communities of Interest, and support Competitions & Awards. Those who join this committee can expect to be busiest during May through November leading up to the conference.

Virtual Program for Great China Region Committee

The Virtual Program for the Great China Region Committee is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing the virtual learning sessions provided to institutions in the Greater China Area. Core committee work includes identifying timely, relevant I-O psychology topics and speakers to present to students of I-O psychology programs. Volunteers who serve on this committee have a connection to China and are interested in supporting the various roles to provide educational I-O psychology programming.

Workshops and Learning Programs Committee (WLP)

The WLP program planning includes the SIOP Annual Conference pre-conference workshops and Friday seminars, as well as Work Smart Series and other advanced professional development offerings. These sessions require brainstorming, proposal submissions, and identifying facilitators. A great committee volunteer will have an interest in informing the content and planning of these events.
