History
Created in 1998, SIOP Foundation leverages philanthropy and partnerships to create opportunities that empower I-O psychologists to promote the development and application of science in the workplace.

Beginnings
The Foundation’s charter year saw 125 SIOP members become donors. Bill and Barbara Owens gave the founding gift, and Dr. Irwin Goldstein led the first SIOP Foundation Board as President.
Growth
By 2011, gifts had surpassed $2 million, yielding nearly $600,000 in distributable income. The Board, led by Dr. Milt Hakel, enhanced resources for researchers, students, and recognized outstanding members.


Present
In 2022, Dr. Nancy Tippins assumed the role of Foundation Board President. The Foundation now stewards $7 million in gifts across over 30 named endowments and funds.
